The short Z words
ZA is the two-letter play that makes the Z reliable. ADZ, AZO, BIZ, COZ, FEZ, FIZ, WIZ, ZAG, ZAP, ZAS, ZED, ZEE, ZIG, ZIN, ZIP, ZIT and ZOO cover almost every awkward position.

Doubling up
Words with two Zs — PIZZA, FUZZY, JAZZY — only appear with a blank, since there is a single Z in the set. Do not wait for them; play the Z you have.
